Learn some vital NOTHING NEW skills!

I am pleased to announce that I have confirmed dates for the NOTHING NEW Workshops! Taking place at The Craft Studio at Berylune in Leamington Spa you can have a look at a map here.

I will show you how to re-fashion old T-shirts into fabulous shopping bags (never need to buy another 'bag for life' again!) + funky cushion covers (with a personal story, not 'just from Ikea'...). This workshop is suitable for total sewing beginners with the main aim of having a fun! Whilst giving you a taste of the satisfaction of making stuff from things that would otherwise be destined for the charity shop.

Cost is £27.50 for a 3hr workshop and includes drinks and cake (home-made and trust me, delicious!). Remember to bring some T-shirts to re-work...all equipment and trimmings are provided.

An afternoon of helping you make the most of your wardrobe! In this workshop I will help you alter an item to better suit your style. Either bring something along or come an hour earlier to go charity shop shopping (may fave hobby) and I will help you turn your item into something you will actually wear! We all have those things hiding in the back of the wardrobe that we once loved, or an amazing vintage find that isn't quite the right fit (but was faaar to gorgeous to pass up) - now is the time to breathe new life into them. Suitable for people who have used a sewing machine before, but may not feel comfortable altering clothes.

Cost is £39.00 for the afternoon including drinks and the aforementioned amazing homemade cake. All equipment and trimmings will be provided. Now get raiding those wardrobes!

Skinny Jeans Please!

After a good few years on the block, it looks like slimline style 'skinny' jeans are here to stay (I doubt I will ever wear my flares again!). They work for boys & girls, are flattering and go with just about everything, a real staple in my wardrobe at least. I love the look of old well worn denim, but the shape of these great washes found in vintage & charity shops just isn't right (voluminous hips and tapered legs). So I make them skinny! I bought these high waisted, faded black Lee jeans off ebay for £5.48 and them transformed them into my perfect jeans...so pleased! My brother also needed his expensive DuckandCover jeans updating as the loose fit just wasn't his style anymore, now they're ready to come out of the wardrobe once again! I can do the same for you for £20.

Check your Labels

One of the best things about secondhand and vintage clothing is (apart form the waste saving merits!) is the funky labels! Back in the day they obviously cared a bit more about this often forgotten little scrap of material. here is a lady who has seen the wonder of these beauties and made a whole blog about them, check your wardrobe and see if you have any gudduns to submit!
