Reworked Leather Shorts

I have finally had a chance to finish off one of my projects FOR MYSELF! I've been wanting to wear these for ages and now they are finished :) I bought a pair of too big leather trousers from The British Red Cross in Leamington for £8.50 and re-worked them into perfect fitting shorts, just in time for the sun to go in. I'm going to dress them down, up and FESTIVAL! Cannot wait for 2000 Trees!

All images have been styled with secondhand, re-worked + vintage items. NB: the lilac fancy collar shirt can be found for sale (£14.00) at any of the events I am attending over the next couple of months. There will be an updated NOTHING NEW IS COMING TO YOU poster up next week!

Check your Labels

One of the best things about secondhand and vintage clothing is (apart form the waste saving merits!) is the funky labels! Back in the day they obviously cared a bit more about this often forgotten little scrap of material. here is a lady who has seen the wonder of these beauties and made a whole blog about them, check your wardrobe and see if you have any gudduns to submit!

A particularly good day...

Today, I got dressed and realised that EVERYTHING I had on was never bought new...I love these days so thought I should share it with yous!

Cardigan, Bicycle tee and belts all from Charity shops. Boots and bag from my time working with such things and the skirt used to be a dress. Hurrah for second hand!

Hope you have pancake feasts planed for tonight...I'm making these http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/girl-eats-food-red-velvet-pancakes-and-creme-egg-sauce

Upcoming Stock

This is the kind of state I get into when handcrafting a batch of my jewellery...however this was part way through tidying up! Got some new pieces available for a stall I am holding at my Mum's Hafla on Saturday night back home, hopefully the dancers will fancy some Christmas shopping too! Take note of all the recycled pots, tins and shoeboxes, the  perfect storage system :)

New Telecommunications Device

After a few weeks of searching ebay and finding all kinds of second had websites I finally found a decent second hand phone! I opted for the HTC Wildfire and found it at my local Cash Converters for £99.99. Not bad for a smartphone with camera and from what I have heard good web browsing capabilities. That's why I have finally upgraded to the smartphone world, to be able to bring you Nothing New ideas and inspiration as I find them!

Condition of this phone is great, no big scratches as I found on most others this price, just a bit of wear to the corners. The inside has been reset to factory standards and was unlocked too.

Even though this isn't where I got my phone in the end it is still a great Nothing New recommended website Preloved - The Joy of secondhand

Pretty Cushion

On our camping trip to Cirencester I also found this beautifully made crochet lace cushion cover. I love it and it's something I can keep forever that will never go out of style. All that satisfaction for £2.49 from a Cancer Research shop...

Perfect Picnics

I have been using my melamine plates, bowls and cups all summer, but having lunch today in the garden I thought to actually show it off! All the melamine was £2.99 from Banardos charity shop and the metal tin tray 50p from The Ben Howard Charity Warehouse. Also, got this pan for 50p from The Salvation Army - its perfect for cooking almost anything on my little camping stove when we go away. For camping stuff like this, its only gonna get bashed around and left out in the rain to 'wash' it up, so second hand makes complete sense.
