Spent a glorious bank holiday weekend deep in the Welsh mountains 'proper camping'. By this I mean no showers, no running water or electrical hook ups; just a farmers field with a steam, a long drop loo and a decent fire pit.
On the Monday we paid a visit to Hay on Wye, which was having an arts festival on, what a bonus! Hay is so pretty and stuffed full of antique and charity shops - maybe that's why I like it so much! And loads of cute cafes too. After browsing the Record and CD fair at The Butter Market, I stumbled into a real Aladdin's cave, Hay Antiques Market. made up of what must be over 20 little rooms, some rooms specialise in textiles and kitchenware, others taxidermy and fishing tackle. It was wonderful! I found a gorgeous lace collar (I have been looking for one for these for a while) and got a friend the perfect birthday present (sshhh). The collar needs a button...picture to come soon.
